Members of the Galesburg community celebrated the history in memory of the Carver Center on Dec. 2, 2017. The panel discussion focused on the early years of the Carver Center, 1945-1965.
The panelists and audience members spoke in loving terms about the vital role the Carver Center played in their lives. It was a "place to go" but also a source of comfort, joy, and inspiration for many due to the leadership of people like Ms. Jackson, Mary Thierry, Roxy Wilder, Willabell Williams, Mr. Tarver and others who worked to care for and shape the youth who frequented the Center.
